Founders Story
A wise man builds his house on a rock. The Rock Solid story is rooted in laying down the groundwork for a long-lasting, dependable process that makes businesses stronger.
The Rock Solid story begins in Cloquet, MN, where founders Pete and Tiffany Carlson were born and raised. High school sweethearts, both attended the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management — focused on degrees in business and accounting, Gopher sports, and each other. Ski-U-Mah!
Pete is a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive) and member of the Minnesota Society of CPAs with more than a decade of industry experience. He began his career at Boulay CPA and worked as the CFO of both Lindfast Solutions Group and Capstone Homes before pursuing his dream to launch Rock Solid Financials.
Tiffany is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and launched her career at Grant Thornton. She also worked for many years as a Senior Tax Analyst at Valspar until becoming a stay-at-home mom to their three daughters, Sarah, Hannah, and Eliza. Working part-time for Rock Solid has allowed her to stay home with her kids while continuing to do the work she loves.
Pete and Tiff are both active people and love spending time at the lake. They enjoy playing sports, especially golf and basketball. To say they are competitive would be an understatement! Pete and Tiff are die-hard Gopher sports fans. Pete loves coaching his daughters in soccer and basketball while Tiff loves cheering them on. Above all, their faith, family, and friends are their greatest source of joy.
